Nick completed a BA(Hons) degree in Graphic Design and Illustration at Brighton University, where he was tutored by the renowned calligrapher Miriam Stribley. Much of his working life has been spent in service to many of London’s top creative agencies and design studios as a designer, visualiser and key art lettering specialist (particularly in the theatre and publishing sectors). He is also an educator, spending eight years at the University for the Creative Arts as a sessional tutor teaching on the foundation and graphic design courses. Nick is currently Creative Director at Stewart2, a visual communications studio, based in Rochester, UK.
Since June 2015, he has been engaged with a personal project of re-imagining fountain pen inks as a creative medium for lettering and illustration. Through deconstructing the fountain pen inks some quite wonderful and magical processes occur. The freedom and variety that this unique medium offers is both addictive and inspiring. He now shares his lettering and illustration skills with a diverse international following with UK based workshops and an online course.
